Why we built this
Why we built the coffee shop inside the bookstore.
SIOP is the bookstore of our field. It's essential. LOOP is the coffee shop inside it, where you come to make genuine connections and figure out what to do next in your career.
The bookstore?
Walk into any large bookstore and you'll find a plethora of answers. Our field has a similar ordeal: SIOP, academic journals, various programs... you name it. You can find the science of I/O psychology in all of those. What's often difficult to find is which path inside it belongs to you.
How LOOP can help when the bookstore can't
A bookstore can't sit with you while you decide. It also can't tell you that the consulting role you're considering will take over your evenings, or that the data analyst role you're about to accept doesn't align with your strengths, interests, or current priorities. Books don't know your life. The experts at LOOP do.
"The coursework covers the science. LOOP covers what comes next."
The missing semester
Most I/O graduates leave their programs technically ready but directionally lost. There's no required course on choosing between internal and external work, no syllabus on building your own consulting practice, and no rubric for what a sustainable (and practical) I/O career actually looks like. That gap between training and clarity is the missing semester. LOOP is what we wish had filled it.
Why LOOP was built
The short reason? Because too many talented I/O psychologists spend their first years guessing alone. LOOP is a deliberate community. It's small enough to be real, structured enough to deliver actionable results, and honest enough to admit that career clarity is attainable when you put in the work.
